We're hosting a series of events for young people in our communities to share their ideas for Oregon's first participatory budgeting process for COVID relief.

Assemblies go a little something like this:

  • Youth leaders and supporting adult staff welcome and guide guests in the space

  • Guests register, check-in to receive materials, and get familiar with the food and snacks available, along with the child care services offered

  • Guests move through different stations, starting with an area to learn what participatory budgeting is

  • Walk through Youth Voice, Youth Vote program values and project themes to help inspire ideas for COVID recovery

  • Brainstorm ideas alone or with peers

  • Look at ideas generated from past events or from participants online

  • Bring ideas to the next station to sign up on the civic tech platform and submit ideas

  • Stop by the photo booth and show off your bright ideas and the friends you came with

  • Add your name to the raffle after completing activities at the various stations
